What is Machine Island?
Machine-island.com is an internet portal for people interested in machinery and vehicles, who want to either sell or rent their machines, vehicles, equipment etc., or are thinking about either buying or leasing the very same.
As a private or business person, you have the opportunity of posting search notices free of charge which are then viewed by potential customers, thereby offering great potential for facilitating future business transactions.
Business customers may also use our registration service and offer their objects “for sale”.
The offers are thus varied and broad, and you have many opportunities for comparing offers in various categories.
Why you should register with machine-island.com?
In order to create offers to be viewed by many interested parties visiting this portal.
How can you register as a user?
Click the Registration link on the Homepage, top left next to the logo. Then fill out all fields identified in red. Your password must be between 4 and 12 characters in length. Click on Create account to complete the registration. You will receive a confirmation email. To log in, enter your username and password in the appropriate fields under Registration.
What may be posted by whom on machine-island.com?
IGenerally speaking, anyone may place an ad who is in search of items in the construction and tool sector, such as machinery, utility and transportation vehicles, containers and alike. Inquiries are generally free of charge. Potential sellers will then take their offers directly to the interested parties.
Business customers have the option of registering (please see also Item 3) in order to place offers on our platform. These, however, are subject to a fee and are paid for by using credits which must be prepaid in Euro. For more details, please see „Service & Info / Prices“.
What is the difference between offers, inquiries and lease stations?
The 3 main categories on machine-island.com consist of the categories “Offers“, “Inquiries”, and “Lease Stations”. “Offers” features objects offered for sale by registered business customers. They include model, type, manufacturer, and a description of the object – and sometimes even the sales price of the object, and the seller. Once the customer has decided on one of the objects, he may use this information to contact the seller and negotiate the details of the sale.
“Inquiries: feature ads by interested parties who were unsuccessful in their own searches and are now reversing the roles in order to let the seller locate a suitable buyer. These inquiries are a free service on machine-island.com.
The category “Lease Stations” allows companies to offer their objects for lease. Here potential customers may look for machinery or vehicles for a one-time or limited-time use. This service is currently also free of charge – as a special bonus on our part!
How does the quick search work?
The quick search allows you to specify certain main aspects beforehand, for example only farm equipment by manufacturer XYZ. This places certain restrictions on the search results and makes the selection easier to handle for the interested party.
Which image formats are supported for uploading to machine-island.com?
Most image formats are accepted for uploading photos. They are automatically converted to the appropriate web format.
The image size is currently limited to 2 MB.
How much does an ad cost, and how long does it run?
DInquiries and Lease Stations are currently run on machine-island.com free of charge. Ads remain active for 3 months. The category “Offers” provides ads and banners at cost. They run for 3 months, just like inquiries and lease stations. You may find the exact prices in this Price Table.
